Solar LED street lights operate by harnessing solar energy through photovoltaic panels to power LED lamps. Here is a step-by-step explanation of how they work:

1. Solar Panel: The system includes a solar panel that absorbs sunlight during the day and converts it into electrical energy. These panels are typically made of silicon and generate direct current (DC) electricity.

2. Charge Controller: The electricity produced by the solar panel flows to a charge controller. This device regulates the voltage and current coming from the solar panel to the battery, preventing overcharging and protecting the battery.

3. Battery Storage: The electrical energy is stored in a battery, usually a deep-cycle battery that can handle repeated charging and discharging. This stored energy will be used to power the LED lights during nighttime.

4. LED Light: Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are used in these street lights due to their high efficiency and long lifespan. LEDs convert electrical energy into light much more efficiently than traditional incandescent or fluorescent bulbs.

5. Light Sensor/Controller: A light sensor or controller is included to detect the ambient light level. It ensures that the LEDs automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn, optimizing the use of stored energy.

6. Pole and Fixtures: The entire system is mounted on a pole with appropriate fixtures to hold the solar panel, battery, and LED light in place. The design ensures that the solar panel is positioned to receive maximum sunlight.
